Visiting pastor Paul Tumba urged the people of God in Bukavu, on this first Sunday after Pentecost, to become a powerful witness through the Holy Spirit.
It was during an ordinary Worship and Praise for the glory of God, at the Evangelical Francophone Center Pain de Vie Bukavu. In his preaching, the speaker of the day dwelled heavily on four portions of the Bible. Especially Luke 4: 18-19; John 15:16; Acts 1: 8 and Acts 10: 38-42 from which he drew the theme "Become a powerful witness through the Holy Spirit". The purpose of his message was to demonstrate to the people of God the role that the Holy Spirit plays in the mission and in the lives of God's children. "You cannot talk about mission, about evangelism without the Holy Spirit," he preached. The second goal of his message was to highlight everyone's responsibility as a child of God, saying that we are saved to go save. The third goal was to tell each child of God to depend on the Holy Spirit to do the mission. "Returning to our basic text in the book of Apostles 1/8, we will understand that we are talking about the spread of the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit. This passage shows that despite opposition, persecution, the gospel could enter everywhere. The spirit of God is able to touch souls and attract many. The spirit of God that is on you is related to the service of God that you do for the Lord. It’s a gift, it’s a grace that God has placed on your life. You cannot bear witness if the spirit of God is not on your life, "exhorted Pastor Paul Tumba before adding:" the Bible says: the Spirit of the Lord is on me. " Why is the Spirit of God on you? he asks, before answering: "The Spirit of God is on you to make yourself available to the work of God and to be ready to serve the Lord. The second reason that makes the Spirit of God be on you is to equip yourself for service. Third reason is to advance what you do. Finally, the fourth reason is to enable you to do what the other is not able to do. Eugide Abalawi Ndabelnze
